Our Metal Bending Service

Our sheet metal bending service is typically used in projects that require lower production volumes or involve very thin metal, where casting and stamping methods are not effective.

Controlled by CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems and equipped with precision back-gauge positioning, real-time material thickness measurement, and high precision ram placement, our press brakes allow us to accurately create diverse shapes such as V-shaped, U-shaped, multi-angle, and radius configurations along a straight axis.

Design Guidelines For Bending Sheet Metal

To enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the fabrication process, we provide these design guidelines for your sheet metal bending projects:

Material Selection

Choose the right materials and thicknesses, as each has unique properties that influence how it behaves during bending. Material thickness affects the minimum bend radius and the bend allowance.

Bend Radius

The ideal inside bend radius should at least equal the material thickness to minimize stress and potential cracking.

Avoid Sharp Bends

Sharp bends increase the risk of material failure and can complicate the fabrication process, so they should be avoided.

Compensate for Springback

Springback must be compensated for in the design phase. Over-bending may be required to achieve the desired final angle.

K-Factor Calculation

Calculating the correct K-factor and adjusting designs based on the K-factor is crucial for achieving precise dimensions.

CNC Machining FAQs

  • Is there a limit to the thickness of sheet metal you can bend?
Our bending capabilities cover a range of sheet metal thicknesses. Generally, we can bend metal sheets up to 0.25 inches in thickness, but the specific limit depends on the material type. For precise thickness limitations, please consult our experts.
  • Will my bent sheet metal parts show die marks?
Yes, your bent parts may exhibit small score lines along the outer surface. These are often caused by pressure and friction between the die and the metal, particularly when using rough dies or softer metal materials. For standard finishes, we do not offer services to remove these marks. For cosmetic finishes, we recommend post-processing treatments such as powder coating or bead blasting to improve the appearance.
